These are our five top tips on what not to take with you
travelling that most people do. Space in your suitcase is precious, so don’t
bother packing these items, you won’t use them!
Some of these may be useful for some, but for majority of
people, it just takes up valuable space that could be used for bikinis or
swimming trunks
5. A Swiss army knife
Apart from the corkscrew and maybe the bottle opener, most
people rarely use a Swiss army knife. Depending on the type of holiday you’re
on, the main functions of the Swiss army knife could be useful, like hiking but
if you’re on the beach, ditch the knife.
4. Travel towel
People pack travel towels because they’re small and dry
quickly but on most holidays it gets left in the suitcase. Most hotels offer free
towels and due to the size can be an annoyance when you’re trying to get dry
quickly.
3. Solar charger
Phones die but unless you’re travelling to the middle of
nowhere, the likelihood of it ever being used is highly unlikely.
2. Hiking boots
If you’re a big fan of the outdoors and you’ve decided you
want to go for a hike up a mountain, most people buy Hiking boots. The reality
is that sturdy trainers are sufficient (unless you’re pro climbing Everest) and
packing big specialists boots for just one hike probably isn’t necessary.
1. A full medical kit
Be safe and do take basic medical supplies but taking a
syringe and needle may be a little too far, especially if you’re not medically
trained. If you are injured abroad, the best thing to do is seek medical from a
local doctor.
