New research has identified the most popular cars for owners with different names.

James is most likely to drive an Alfa Romeo while Jessicas love a Ferrari, according to new research by MoneySupermarket.

Analysis of online insurance searches has revealed the most common types of car owned by drivers with different names, and it seems as though some names mean very expensive taste.

Prince William might have surprised crowds at his wedding by taking his new wife for a spin in Prince Charles’ Aston Martin, but most Williams would pick a Ferrari. Kates, meanwhile, are more fond of an understated but classy Maserati.

Still, Queen Elizabeth’s Rolls Royce makes the starkest contrast, since most of her namesakes opt for a Suzuki. As for the Prince of Wales, he might not be too impressed with the Mazda chosen most often by other men named Charles.

When it comes to individual manufacturers, the research shows that Damiens and Vincents are more partial to a Porsche, while Norman and Valerie are more likely to opt for a sensible car like a Skoda.
