Are you planning a family caravan holiday in Britain this summer?

You should be because we have put together a list of ideas which are sure to keep your and your children entertained!

 ArcelorMittal Orbit Slide
The world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide has opened this summer at the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London’s Olympic Park! The slide will spiral around the unique tower five times from a height of 80 metres before a final 50 metres down to the ground. You can enjoy the view as the slide has transparent sections but only takes 40 seconds!

It is good timing for the slide to open as the Olympic Games in Rio are just a month away and they are sure to bring back memories of the London Games in 2012.

Nearest caravan park: Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park, Edmonton

·         Alpamare Waterpark
Alpamare is a waterpark due to open in Scarborough this summer. The park will be Alpine themed and will feature four water rides, offering up to 2,500 rides per hour on four-person floats, two-person tubes, racing mats and body slides.

It is proposed that the park will be open for seven days a week until 10pm at night and in addition to the rides, the family attraction will have an indoor wave pool, luxury spar, outdoor pool and infinity pool.

Nearest caravan park: Jasmine Park, Snainton, near Scarborough

·         Big Friendly Giant Film
On 22nd July, the much anticipated The BFG will be released in cinema in the year that marks the 100th anniversary since the birth of children’s author Roald Dahl. To celebrate the anniversary, there are events taking places across Britain with the most notable happening at Tatton Park, in Knutsford, Cheshire.

Imaginative trails for children include joining Danny the Champion of the World in the gardens, Fantastic Mr Fox at the arm and Matilda in the mansion.

Nearest caravan park: Elm Cottage Touring Park, Winsford

·         Solarsphere
Solarsphere in Wales is where astronomy meets music. Family friendly workshops include solar observing and astro photography, night sky observing, talks on astronomy and a moon landing debate. For children, there is also face painting and a magician alongside great live music.
